Understanding Landlord Ratings on TrustViewz

Published on TrustViewz Blog

TrustViewz uses a 10-star rating system to help tenants share detailed feedback about their rental experience. Instead of a single overall score, the system breaks down the experience into specific categories so future renters can see exactly what to expect.

What Each Category Means

When you write a review on TrustViewz, you rate the property across several categories. Here is what each one covers:

How Ratings Are Calculated

Each category is rated on a scale of 1 to 10, where 1 is the worst and 10 is the best. The overall property rating is the average of all the individual category ratings from all reviews. If a property has multiple reviews, each review contributes equally to the average. This means every review matters, whether it is the first or the fiftieth.

Quick Review vs Detailed Review

TrustViewz offers two ways to leave a review. The Quick Review covers the five key categories listed above and takes about one minute. The Detailed Review goes deeper with up to 31 categories covering everything from ventilation and natural light to parking and security. Both types of reviews contribute to the property's overall rating.

Why Your Review Matters

Every rating you give helps build a clearer picture of a property. When multiple tenants rate the same property, patterns emerge. If several reviewers mention poor water supply or an unresponsive landlord, future renters can make informed decisions. Your honest rating, even if it takes just a minute, contributes to a more transparent rental market.

Tips for Rating Accurately

Rate each category based on your actual experience, not what you expected. A 5 out of 10 means average, not bad. Reserve very low scores for genuinely poor experiences and very high scores for truly exceptional ones. If a category does not apply to your property, you can skip it in the detailed review. The goal is to give future renters an honest, realistic picture of what living there is like.
